On your wall

Shown to scale on a wall (≈200 cm sofa for reference), in your selected material and size. Sizes are the printed image; framed canvas adds a slim solid-wood floater frame — ready to hang, no glass.

The collection

The lost art of painting the sea

For two centuries the open sea was the subject serious painters measured themselves against — weather, weight, and the small human thing being thrown around in it. Vaelmar is built around that feeling: the moment the water stops being scenery and turns into something with a will.

Each piece is painted from a real photograph of the sea into an Old-Master oil, then produced as an archival giclée — so the brushwork, the impasto and the deep blacks survive on your wall.

Three ways to own it

Fine-art paper +

200 gsm enhanced matte, acid-free & FSC-certified, printed full-bleed — edge to edge, no white border — with a 12-colour pigment giclée. The lightest option; frame it your own way.

Gallery canvas +

Gallery canvas, stretched and ready to hang, with the image wrapped around the deep edges — no white sides, no glass, no glare. The woven surface reads as a painting.

Framed canvas +

The gallery canvas set in a slim solid-wood floater frame (black, natural wood, or dark brown), filling the frame behind a clean shadow gap. Ready to hang out of the box — no mat, no glass.

Questions

How is the artwork made? +

Each piece is painted from a real photograph of the sea into an Old-Master oil, then produced as an archival giclée print. The original is not a hand-painted canvas — it’s an archival fine-art print of the painting.

How long does delivery take? +

Pieces are made to order and typically ship within a few days, then arrive in roughly 5–10 business days depending on your country. Full shipping details →

Can I return it? +

Each piece is printed to order for you, so — like most made-to-order art — we don’t accept change-of-mind returns. But anything that arrives damaged or flawed is reprinted or refunded free, usually just from a photo of the problem. Made to order & returns →

Do framed pieces need glass? +

No. Framed canvas hangs in a slim wood floater frame with no glass — no glare, ready to hang.
